4 black tea bags
4 cups boiling water
1½ cups frozen cherries (or fresh, pitted)
1–2 tbsp lemon juice
¼–⅓ cup sugar (adjust to taste)
2 cups cold water
Ice cubes
Optional: mint leaves, cherry pie filling for garnish
Steep tea bags in 4 cups boiling water for 5–7 minutes. Remove and discard tea bags.
In a saucepan, combine cherries and sugar. Simmer over medium heat for 5–8 minutes until soft and syrupy.
Strain cherries to separate juice. Let juice cool.
In a pitcher, mix brewed tea, cherry juice, lemon juice, and 2 cups cold water. Stir well.
Refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
Serve over ice with optional mint or cherry garnish.
Adjust sweetness to your taste.
