  • 1/2 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 lb lump crab meat
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups seafood stock
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup white wine
  • 1/2 tsp Old Bay seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1/4 cup chopped celery
  • 1/4 cup chopped carrots
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 1/2 cup half-and-half
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, melt butter over medium heat. Sauté onions, garlic, celery, and carrots until softened.
  2. Stir in flour and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.
  3. Slowly add white wine, seafood stock, and tomato paste, stirring until combined. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Add shrimp and crab meat, cooking until shrimp turns pink.
  5. Stir in heavy cream, half-and-half, Old Bay seasoning, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in lemon juice and chopped parsley.
  7. Serve hot with crusty bread or crackers.
