Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook ground beef and onion until browned. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. In a bowl, combine cream of mushroom soup and milk.
  4. In a greased casserole dish, layer half of the potatoes, beef mixture, and cheese. Repeat layers.
  5. Pour the soup mixture over the top.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 1 hour. Remove foil and bake an additional 15-20 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  7. Let cool slightly before serving.

  • You can substitute cream of mushroom soup with cream of chicken for a different flavor.
