  • 12 oz wide egg noodles
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Cook egg noodles according to package instructions, drain, and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat, sauté onions and garlic until softened.
  • Add ground beef, cook until browned, then stir in marinara sauce. Simmer for 5-10 minutes.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, 1 cup mozzarella, and Parmesan. Season with salt and pepper.
  • In a greased casserole dish, layer half the cooked noodles, followed by half the beef mixture, and half the ricotta mixture. Repeat the layers.
  • Top with remaining mozzarella cheese.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes or until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  • Garnish with fresh basil or parsley, if desired, and serve warm.
