Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ziti pasta
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 24 oz marinara sauce
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook ziti pasta according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  3. In a skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned. Add marinara sauce and simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, cream cheese, eggs, parsley, Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  5. Layer the baking dish: spread a layer of meat sauce, followed by half of the pasta, half of the cheese mixture, and half of the mozzarella. Repeat layers.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil, bake for an additional 10 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  7. Let sit for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground beef with ground turkey or Italian sausage for variation.
  • Make ahead: Assemble the ziti, cover, and refrigerate for up to 24 hours before baking.
  • Add red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
