Perfect for game day or any gathering, these sliders pack all the classic flavors of a Philly cheesesteak in a convenient handheld size.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ribeye steak or shaved steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced (optional)
  • 12 slider rolls or Hawaiian sweet rolls
  • 810 slices provolone cheese
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Optional: mayo for spreading

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sliced onions and bell pepper, and sauté until soft and caramelized, about 10 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Add the thinly sliced steak to the skillet and cook until no longer pink. Sprinkle with garlic powder and adjust seasoning as needed. Remove from heat.
  • Slice slider rolls in half horizontally and place the bottom halves in a baking dish.
  • Spread steak, onions, and bell peppers evenly over the rolls. Layer with provolone cheese slices.
  • Place the top halves of the rolls on top. Brush melted butter over the tops of the buns.
  • Cover with foil and bake for 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted. Uncover and bake for an additional 5 minutes to brown the tops.
  • Remove from oven, slice into individual sliders, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Feel free to add mushrooms for extra flavor.
  • For a spicier kick, add sliced jalapeños or hot sauce.
  • Hawaiian sweet rolls add a hint of sweetness but regular slider buns work well too.
