Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb kielbasa, sliced
  • 4 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  • In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced kielbasa and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
  • Remove kielbasa and set aside. In the same pot, sauté onions and garlic until softened.
  • Add cubed potatoes and chicken broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender.
  • Stir in the heavy cream and return the cooked kielbasa to the pot. Cook for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot and garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

  • For a thicker consistency, mash some of the potatoes before adding the cream.
  • Substitute turkey kielbasa for a lighter version.
  • Adjust seasoning to taste, depending on the saltiness of the broth.
